Whenever I think about myself or anyone going through the valley of dry
bones, broken dreams and dried up hope, there is a scripture that refreshes
the soul. “The LORD will guide you continually, watering your life when you
are dry and keeping you healthy, too. You will be like a well- watered
garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” Isaiah 58:11
I have seen and heard testimonies of men and women overcoming pain,
addictions and obstacles. No, it isn’t easy. But I believe anything is
possible with faith and action. I have seen and heard men and women share
with me at various speaking engagements how they have been delivered from;
financial stress, abuse, surgery, broken hearts, grief, unemployment, job
burnout, addiction to drugs, depression, disappointments, and from
unfulfilled lives to a purpose driven life. You can feel defeated and
become a victim of circumstances. Or you can feel determined and focused to
rise above your circumstances.
You are a beautiful flower in God’s garden. Weeds don’t need water to grow
— but flowers do need water and fertilizer. Remember — the very things
that help you to grow (the fertilizer) won’t always smell or feel good.
Seek ways to water your seeds of faith and success.
How?
Invest in your personal development.
Continue praying and believing in your possibilities.
Continue taking steps towards your goals.
Network, study and remain teachable.
Practice forgiveness, giving and kindness.
When stress happens — don’t isolate, procrastinate or medicate
yourself.
Restore your self-esteem and worthiness.
Stay away from the people, activities and habits that bring you down.
Get involved with positive and productive activities and people who can bring you up.
Do what really matters and don’t give up!
